Description
The program supports municipal and other school authorities in sustainably reducing the negative impacts of aircraft noise within the noise protection area of Frankfurt am Main Airport. Structural noise protection and ventilation measures are eligible for funding in buildings of primary schools as well as schools offering primary education located in Day Protection Zone 2. The goal is to improve learning conditions and reduce impairments in learning to read. Up to 90% of eligible expenses are funded, with applications submitted continuously through the Darmstadt Regional Council. Applicant institutions must demonstrate that their school was located within the defined zone as of the cutoff date 30.11.2014 and is listed in the annex of the guideline.
Eligible costs particularly include expert reports as well as the planning and implementation of noise protection measures on walls and windows, the construction or conversion of soundproof rooms, and the installation of ventilation and air conditioning systems. Within the framework of a non-repayable grant, up to 90% of the total costs can be covered; the applicant’s own contribution must be at least 10%. Required documentation includes a brief description of the measure, an expenditure and financing plan, evidence of other applied for or approved funding, construction plans, building descriptions, and a cost estimate according to DIN 276.
