Description
The funding program “Support for Measures to Preserve, Maintain, and Develop Cultural Monuments” according to the Monument Preservation Directive of Saxony-Anhalt is aimed at companies, public institutions, and private individuals in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. It provides non-repayable grants for monument-related expenses and covers up to 49 percent of eligible costs. In justified exceptional cases, the funding share may vary; applications must be submitted before the start of the project and by August 1st for the upcoming fiscal year to the responsible approval authority. Grants are awarded within the framework of available budgetary funds and at the authority’s due discretion, with state institutions being excluded.
Eligible are works on immovable and movable cultural monuments for preservation, protection, and development, including construction and restoration services, protective measures against fire, water, or vandalism, work on historic parks, restorations and reconstructions, as well as the acquisition of monuments or properties for the permanent safeguarding of monument preservation interests. Also funded are expert reports, documentation, architectural-historical and restoration investigations, effective public relations, measures in the monument’s surroundings, archaeological accompanying work, monument preservation plans, urban and spatial cadastres, as well as necessary preparatory work and publications. Selection is based on alignment with state political priorities, prevention of acute dangers, sustainable usage options, and model character. Required documents include the application form, a financing plan, cost estimates, monument preservation approval, site plan, and a project description.
