Description
In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the state promotes a variety of initiatives with funds from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) that strengthen tolerance, humanity, and democratic values, as well as advance civil society engagement. Grants are available for consulting services within a statewide network, micro-projects in municipalities, clubs, and associations, as well as for co-financed federal programs. The scope of funding covers concerns in the areas of social cohesion and democracy, culture, culture & media, as well as work & social affairs, combining cultural, social, and media-educational approaches. Legal entities under private and public law, including educational institutions, public bodies, clubs, associations, and municipalities, have the opportunity to implement projects combating xenophobia, racism, and anti-Semitism and to initiate sustainable democratic processes.
Applications can be submitted continuously and require the professional and organizational suitability of the applicants. Funding decisions are based on the evaluation of technical qualifications and a positive recommendation from the awarding committee of the Interministerial Working Group "Framework for Democracy and Tolerance." For statewide consulting services, selection is made through a call for expressions of interest, while micro-projects require the participation of at least five participants for a minimum of four hours each. The individual grant rate varies depending on the project scope, making detailed financial planning essential. The application documents must particularly include the Project Description Annex, Task Description Annex, Personnel Qualification Form, and the Financial Plan. This set of instruments enables applicants to implement demanding measures and sustainably strengthen democratic culture in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
