Funding objective
The program supports companies in implementing investment measures to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Funding is provided for both building-related individual measures (e.g., on facades, roofs, windows, doors, gates, heating, cooling) and non-building-related individual measures (e.g., replacement of inefficient technical systems, waste heat utilization, process optimization). In addition, combined plant solutions for the generation, storage, and use of renewable energies can be funded.

Description
Sachsen-Anhalt Energy supports regional initiatives that combine efficiency measures and the use of renewable energies. The funding is provided from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) based on the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER). The grant program targets small, medium, and large enterprises aiming to achieve sustainable energy savings through investments in building envelope, heating, cooling, plant technology, or process optimization. Building-related individual measures can be linked with photovoltaics, heat storage, charging infrastructure, and digitalization solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Non-building-related measures such as the replacement of inefficient units, waste heat utilization, and technical optimizations are also supported. Applications are possible until June 30, 2027.
Eligible investment expenditures start at EUR 50,000 (SMEs) or EUR 150,000 (large enterprises) with funding rates between 20% and 50%. A prerequisite is proof of an energy audit or an energy management system with an expert-verified inventory. Companies in the tobacco industry as well as those in financial difficulties are excluded. Eligible costs include building-related and non-building-related individual measures, planning, energy audit, engineering services, charging infrastructure, digitalization measures, and combination solutions with renewable energies. Ineligible are used equipment, demonstration or pilot projects, vehicles for passenger and road freight transport, land, office and lighting technology, or measures mandated by authorities. The project duration is 18 months, with a maximum funding amount of EUR 1 million. Selection criteria include contribution to final energy savings, funding efficiency, company size, and use of renewable energies. Electronic applications are submitted via the IB customer portal of the Investment Bank of Saxony-Anhalt.
