Support for Museums and Local Cultural Centers

With the program package "Support for Museums and Local Cultural Centers" in Burgenland, public institutions and non-profit organizations are supported in the implementation of preservation and renovation measures for Burgenland museums as well as in the design of exhibitions and special events. The initiative also promotes the expansion of barrier-free access and the optimization of technical infrastructure in local cultural centers. By financially strengthening listed buildings and specifically supporting cultural media offerings, the program contributes to the long-term safeguarding of museum collections and to increasing the attractiveness of all regions of the state.

Applications can be submitted at any time without deadline restrictions, enabling short-term project planning. Funding is provided in the form of a grant and can be applied for continuously. The funding areas include Culture, Buildings and Monument Protection, Culture & Media as well as Infrastructure & Urban Development. A prerequisite for submitting an application is a documented connection to Burgenland as well as the submission of a standardized funding application with a detailed cost breakdown. The application must include the completed application form, the cost plan, and balanced original receipts to demonstrate the proper use of funds. Eligible applicants are operators of Burgenland museums and local cultural centers who wish to sustainably expand their object and event offerings. The allocation is based on the Burgenland Cultural Funding Act and is processed by the Office of the Burgenland State Government as the responsible administrative authority (reference number 1014646). Interested applicants receive comprehensive advice and support in the application process from the state administration.
