Funding for New Construction

The funding for new construction in Vorarlberg is exclusively aimed at non-profit housing associations and supports the creation of additional inclusive rental and purchase entitlement apartments as well as other residential units. During the funding period from April 18, 2024, to December 31, 2026, non-repayable grants will be awarded based on the date of receipt and completeness of the application. A prerequisite is an official building permit for the new construction project as well as year-round use as the primary residence. Excluded are properties owned by the federal or state government (unless applied for by the residents) as well as holiday homes and secondary residences. The amount of the grant is determined by the available federal budget and the number of additional residential units in the respective calendar year and is based on the conditions of public new construction funding loans.

Interested housing associations must submit a complete funding application including all evidence in accordance with the Funding Guidelines 2024 – 2026. Evaluation criteria are compliance with the funding guidelines and completeness of the application documents. The funding aims to create affordable, inclusive living space in dense and multi-story residential buildings to sustainably meet regional housing demand. Processing is carried out by the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government, Department of Housing Promotion, which provides advisory support in preparing the documents. Applications can be submitted at any time; applications are processed in the order of receipt until funds are exhausted.
