Description
Municipalities and municipal associations in North Rhine-Westphalia can apply for a non-repayable grant under the progres.nrw program for the procurement and installation of stationary, controllable, and brand-new charging infrastructure. Funding is provided for both wall boxes and charging stations with one or more charging points, including power electronics, authentication and payment systems, load and energy management, as well as civil engineering, foundations, installation, and grid connection. The funding rate is up to €1,500 per charging point (for charging capacities under 50 kW) or €150 per kilowatt of charging capacity (from 50 kW), up to the maximum eligible expenses. The maximum project duration is 18 months, and applications can be submitted until December 31, 2026.
Eligible applicants are municipalities, municipal associations, and municipal enterprises under the GkG NRW, provided that no economic activities within the meaning of European state aid law are conducted. A prerequisite is the use of green electricity or locally generated renewable electricity, professional installation according to the Charging Station Ordinance, and exclusive non-public use of the charging infrastructure. To apply, a cost estimate, the completed online form, proof of a green electricity supply contract, an offer from a specialist company, and PIN code confirmation are required. The grant supports municipalities in achieving climate protection and mobility goals and in expanding charging infrastructure for municipal fleets in a future-proof manner.
