Description
The non-repayable grant supports non-profit organizations as well as recognized churches and religious communities active in the field of senior citizen work in the federal state of Lower Austria. A wide range of projects and activities that serve the social participation and quality of life of seniors are funded. In the areas of social affairs, health, commitment to social cohesion, culture, media, as well as work & social affairs, opportunities arise for self-initiated activities, artistic offerings, exercise programs, and intergenerational initiatives. Efficient use of funds is ensured through earmarking and is based on the provisions of § 3 of the Lower Austrian Senior Citizens Act.
The funding program focuses on measures to strengthen the self-initiative of seniors, maintain and promote physical fitness, as well as musical-cultural design in everyday life. Particular importance is given to projects that promote exchange between young and old or establish innovative social model regions. In addition, the voluntary work of seniors in the region is actively supported. For consideration in the funding year, a written application must be submitted by March 31 at the latest. A prerequisite for funding is the purpose anchored in the statutes to carry out projects in accordance with § 3 of the Lower Austrian Senior Citizens Act and the spatial scope of Lower Austria. Interested organizations can obtain detailed information and application documents from the responsible department of the state government and thus contribute to vibrant senior citizen work in Lower Austria.
