Description

The funding program of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is aimed at private individuals, companies, start-ups, as well as public institutions, educational providers, and non-profit organizations that wish to install or expand ground-mounted, floating, and agri-photovoltaic systems with a minimum capacity of 100 kWp. A prerequisite is that no funding under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) is claimed throughout the entire period of use. Eligible for funding are photovoltaic modules, inverters, substructures, installation, as well as cables and grid connection. The grant amounts to 25% of the eligible expenses and is capped at a maximum sum of €1,000,000. Selection is made on a case-by-case basis, taking sustainability aspects into account. Required are a detailed system description, a cost-covering cost estimate or offer, PIN code registration, a declaration of the entrepreneur, a statement regarding the status as an “enterprise in difficulty,” as well as a treasurer’s declaration for municipal applicants.

Interested applicants can submit their application via the electronic portal until June 30, 2027, whereby the start of the measure may only occur after receipt of the grant award notice. Early planning and timely procurement of all documents ensure prompt processing. Upon completion of construction work, proof of use must be submitted, including professionally audited invoice documents and documentation of the achieved performance. The program makes a significant contribution to climate protection and the further dissemination of renewable energies in North Rhine-Westphalia by promoting innovative photovoltaic technologies in various application scenarios.
