Description

The Arnsberg District Government supports the development and expansion of photovoltaic systems in North Rhine-Westphalia that are not subsidized under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). Participating municipalities, districts, and public institutions, as well as private individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, educational institutions, and associations, can apply for financial assistance in the form of a non-repayable grant for new installations and expansions. The aim of the funding is to strengthen local climate protection measures, increase energy efficiency, and promote environmental protection through decentralized power generation. Interested project sponsors benefit from a clear funding structure that supports the use of innovative technologies in climate protection technology and advances the energy transition in the state.

A prerequisite for approval is a location in North Rhine-Westphalia as well as proof that the system is not already subsidized under the EEG. The funding framework covers a wide range of projects, from school pilot projects to commercial rooftops, and is specifically aimed at initiatives that have not yet fallen within the primary EEG framework. Currently, applications are unfortunately suspended, so new submissions are not possible until further notice. The Arnsberg District Government, as the responsible funding agency, coordinates this program within the scope of its diverse tasks for energy and climate protection. As soon as the application period reopens, the central information service NRW will provide comprehensive information directly about procedures, funding conditions, and further steps.
