Description

The funding program for prevention and counseling in the addiction sector of the Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care and Prevention supports external professionals in the care of prisoners and detainees in Bavaria's correctional facilities who are addicted or at risk of addiction. The goal is comprehensive counseling of those affected, strengthening their willingness to change, and psychosocial support for substituted individuals. Furthermore, the program promotes referral to appropriate support services after release to enable a sustainable exit from dependency. The grant is provided in the form of a subsidy and covers both personnel costs and necessary material expenses, including travel costs for official trips to examination and counseling appointments.

Eligible for funding are registered associations, interest groups, as well as public institutions with qualified personnel: professionals with a bachelor's or diploma degree in social work or social pedagogy, or equivalent recognized qualifications. In individual cases, an addiction-specific additional qualification or extensive professional experience may grant access, provided a binding further training agreement is made. Funding covers up to 100 percent of eligible expenses. Personnel costs are based on the maximum rates of the Free State, travel costs are subsidized up to €3,000 per full-time position depending on the distance category, and material costs up to €2,000. To apply, the final certificate and, if applicable, proof of an addiction-specific additional qualification must be submitted. Continuous professional coordination with the funding authority ensures the qualitative implementation of the measures and guarantees effective support for the target group.
