Funding of Programs for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention

The state of Vorarlberg supports aks gesundheit GmbH in the Vorarlberg region in the implementation of numerous health promotion and prevention initiatives. Since January 1, 2013, the state has reimbursed all expenses for the organization, documentation, and evaluation of preventive medical programs and scientific activities, including the management of the cancer registry as well as health statistical analyses. The funding thematically covers projects in the areas of health, research & innovation, science, and work & social affairs. This continuously available grant scheme, with an annual funding volume of approximately €0.85 million, is established through a framework agreement in place since July 2006 and can be applied for at any time without deadline to flexibly implement innovative public health projects.

Expenses for organization, documentation, evaluation, and other scientific activities are funded. The comprehensive support contributes to strengthening evidence-based approaches in research and innovation and promotes the sustainable development of health care in Vorarlberg. Applications can be submitted without time restrictions, allowing financing to be provided as needed. The funding amount is indexed annually and paid out monthly on a pro rata basis to ensure cost-efficient processes. For application, proper invoicing in accordance with the provisions of the framework agreement is sufficient. The funding measure is exclusively aimed at service providers in the field of health promotion and public health who wish to sustainably evaluate and further develop preventive concepts with the help of this financing.
