Funding of Projects (City of Meppen – Youth)

The city of Meppen offers an uncomplicated grant funding program for young people aged 14 to 25 who wish to implement creative or community-oriented projects within the city area. Private individuals are eligible for funding provided that at least two applicants actively participate together and there is no intention to generate profit. The funding amount is generally up to €400, in exceptional cases up to €1,000. The funds can be used for all project costs, such as material procurement or event execution. In addition to financial support, participants receive expert advice from the youth workers of the city of Meppen.

Submissions are possible at any time, as the city of Meppen continuously provides funding opportunities. Applications are evaluated based on clearly defined criteria: fulfillment of age and group requirements, feasibility of the idea, and non-profit orientation. The goal is to strengthen the engagement of adolescents and young adults in Lower Saxony and to support their own initiatives in a practical manner. The funding explicitly targets projects that promote community cohesion or introduce new impulses for urban youth life. Interested groups of at least two young people can submit their project ideas to the city of Meppen and thus contribute to vibrant youth work.
