Description
The funding of special spatial planning activities enables municipalities, regions, and municipal associations in Vorarlberg to implement projects of supra-regional, regional, or inter-municipal significance. The program is aimed at public institutions and legal entities with municipal participation and places an emphasis on sustainable development and solutions oriented towards the common good. Supported are, for example, pilot projects to test new cooperation strategies, preliminary assessments and participation concepts for spatial development planning, systemic spatial analyses, or awareness-raising measures. Applications can be submitted throughout the year on an ad hoc basis to the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government, Department of Spatial Planning and Building Law, ensuring flexible project implementation.
The funding rate ranges between 40% and 70% of eligible expenses depending on the project scope, with a maximum of €10,000 per project (or €3,000 for municipalities with fewer than 3,000 inhabitants). Eligible costs particularly include fees and expense reimbursements for commissioned experts, costs for accompanying studies and scientific expertises, event costs (e.g., informational events, workshops, excursions), as well as expenses for public relations (printed materials, exhibitions, websites). Excluded are ancillary costs such as water, electricity, office supplies, postage, insurance and financing costs, detailed planning for implementation measures, and deductible input VAT. A prerequisite for the grant is a comprehensive electronic documentation and – where appropriate – the involvement of affected parties and neighboring areas. The offered service catalog of external experts forms the central basis for the application.
