Description
The Arnsberg District Government supports public institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia in the acquisition, leasing, or long-term rental of pure battery electric and fuel cell vehicles of class N1. The aim of the funding is to strengthen low-emission mobility in the municipal sector. With a funding rate of up to 20% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of €8,000 per vehicle, the program helps to reduce investment barriers and make climate-friendly commercial vehicles economically attractive. Applications can be submitted until June 30, 2027, within the framework of available budgetary funds.
Eligible applicants are municipalities, municipal associations, and special-purpose associations according to the Law on Municipal Cooperation (GkG NRW), as well as municipal enterprises, provided no economic activity within the meaning of EU state aid law is carried out and the vehicles are used exclusively for non-commercial purposes. Funding is provided for new and demonstration vehicles of class N1 with a minimum holding period or minimum term of one year (five years recommended). Eligible expenses include acquisition costs, leasing and rental down payments, as well as long-term rentals. To apply, a current cost estimate and the online application form must be submitted; additional documents specified in the form complete the application. The funding measure runs until 2027 and is processed entirely digitally: after submission of the documents, the grant approval is issued, followed by commissioning, implementation, and finally payment after positive verification of proper use.
