Description
As part of a permanent funding program in Carinthia, the city of Villach supports non-profit fishing clubs in waterbody maintenance measures. The call focuses on the preservation of natural lake shores and a balanced fish population by promoting professionally supervised fish stocking measures with a direct subsidy volume of up to €2,500 per club and calendar year. As a key component in the fields of environmental and nature conservation as well as energy efficiency & climate protection, this funding contributes to stabilizing ecological structures and sustainably enhancing aquatic habitats. The continuous financing option enables long-term planning and implementation of local cleanup projects. Allocation is based on a resolution by the Committee for Health, Environment, and Nature Conservation.
Eligible to participate are all fishing clubs based or active in projects within the city of Villach that demonstrably pursue non-profit purposes in water protection. Purpose-bound applications can be submitted at any time: they require the submission of a properly issued invoice as proof of the conducted fish stocking measures as well as the approval of the Committee for Health, Environment, and Nature Conservation. Funding begins immediately after the completion of the review and particularly supports expenses for fish stocking. Through clear documentation and regular accounting within the framework of the city of Villach’s basic subsidy regulations, the clubs make an important contribution to improving water quality, promoting species-rich biotopes, and strengthening public environmental awareness. Funding applications have been accepted without a deadline since 01/01/2019.
