Description
The funding program to support resource- and climate-friendly concrete in building construction in Baden-Württemberg strengthens climate and resource protection through targeted grants. Companies, start-ups, educational institutions, public and non-profit organizations with headquarters or operations in the state can submit applications continuously. Projects demonstrating the use of concrete with reduced raw material consumption and lower CO₂ emissions in building construction are eligible for funding. This includes material-related expenses for concrete mixtures, laboratory and testing costs, as well as personnel and engineering services. A prerequisite is proof of the technical and ecological advantages of the concrete solution used. The evaluation particularly considers the level of innovation, climate protection potential, as well as economic efficiency and feasibility in building construction.
Construction companies, architectural firms, start-ups, and research institutions especially benefit from this funding to develop novel concrete mixtures or test them in real construction environments. For application submission, a detailed project description, technical evidence regarding the concrete, a cost and financing plan, and proof of the company’s location are required. General administrative costs, construction costs without direct relation to the concrete trial, and retroactive expenses are not eligible for funding. With this initiative, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy Economy Baden-Württemberg aims to sustainably transform the construction industry and contribute in the long term to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector.
