Description

The funding of sacred buildings, castles, secular buildings, movable cultural assets, and archaeological projects in Tyrol supports the long-term preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage. This grant program focuses on measures for the restoration and maintenance of listed buildings as well as the conservation of paintings and sacred inventory. Facades of secular buildings and castles, as well as scientifically supervised archaeological excavations, can also be funded. Through financial support, historical substance and cultural identity are to be preserved, tourist attractions secured, and local historical research projects enabled. The amount of funding is based on the respective restoration and maintenance costs or the expenses for archaeological projects. Ongoing application submission guarantees continuous planning and financing security for all parties involved.

Eligible for funding are private individuals and companies wishing to implement projects in the cultural sector within the state of Tyrol. Compliance with the provisions of the Tyrolean Cultural Funding Act (§ 7) as well as the Cultural Funding Guidelines (§ 3) is a prerequisite. Applications can be submitted at any time, with a complete project description including a detailed calculation and financing plan to be provided. The application must also include an informal funding request. After a positive funding commitment, proof of appropriate use must be provided by means of original invoices or an income-expenditure statement. Through the continuous awarding of grants, the State of Tyrol makes a significant contribution to monument protection and archaeological research in the region.
