Description

This statewide initiative in Baden-Württemberg supports recognized specialized and vocational schools in the field of social professions with financial grants to ensure a high-quality vocational education on a permanent basis. The goal is to strengthen the training structures in areas such as social pedagogy, curative education, remedial education, work education, and nursing assistance. Through continuous funding, teaching and learning conditions can be optimized, teaching staff capacities secured, and educational offerings further developed. In this way, the program significantly contributes to qualifying professionals for social and care-related occupations and meeting the increasing demand in the health and social sectors.

Eligible for funding are approved substitute schools, namely specialized schools for social pedagogy (with a focus on youth and residential education), curative education, and remedial education, as well as vocational schools for work education, curative education assistance, elderly care assistance, and home and family care. Educational institutions can continuously submit applications for non-repayable grants to the Regional Council. A prerequisite is official approval as a substitute school under the Private Schools Act. The grants cover partial operating costs and teaching-related expenses to ensure long-term planning security. This funding ensures that prospective professionals in social professions receive a solid, practice-oriented education, thereby sustainably strengthening the quality of vocational education in the state.
