Description
The Free State of Saxony promotes the establishment and qualitative further development of school social work at general education schools under municipal and independent sponsorship. Funded projects are primarily aimed at districts and independent cities as local providers of public youth welfare, who pass on the funds in a public-law form to recognized providers of independent youth welfare. The program supports the deployment of professionals at primary schools, secondary schools, grammar schools, and special schools, contributing to the integration of social and health-related services into everyday school life. With regard to the thematic areas of social affairs, health, as well as labor & social affairs, this initiative contributes to strengthening prevention, counseling, and support for young people.
For a project duration of 12 months, personnel expenses, material costs, and administrative expenses are subsidized. The funding rate ranges from 80% to 100% of eligible expenses depending on the design, with a flat rate of up to €7,000 provided per 1.0 full-time equivalent. Prerequisites for the grant include, among others, the anchoring of school social work in local youth welfare planning, proof of at least 1.0 full-time equivalent of professionals under public sponsorship, and the complete application and utilization of funds from the youth lump sum. Applications can be submitted by October 31 each year for the following fiscal year to the Municipal Social Association Saxony – Chemnitz branch.
