Description
The funding program supports non-profit sports clubs in Styria with annual grants for the organization of sporting events, youth and junior development work, as well as general training and competition operations. Beneficiaries benefit from continuously available funds based on the Styrian State Sports Act 2015 and a valid resolution of the state government. Applications are free of charge and can be submitted online at any time. Funding is granted in the areas of sports, culture & media and helps to strengthen local club structures, secure sporting opportunities for all age groups, and promote sustainable engagement in organized grassroots sports.
To be eligible for funding, sports activities must take place on a non-commercial basis and comply with the framework guidelines of the State of Styria. Eligible for grants are event costs, expenses for youth and junior development work, as well as expenditures in training and competition operations. Investments in sports facility infrastructure, land or building purchases, debt repayment, legal and consulting fees, rent and lease payments, publications, operating costs, motorsport participation, club clothing (except for elite sports), VIP areas, catering, honorary gifts, bank fees, prize money, player transfers, or fines are not subsidized. For the application, the form "Sports Funding Application" as well as original invoices and proof of payment must be submitted. Proper proof of use is provided after the funding approval using specified checklists for project and accounting reports. The program is aimed at non-profit clubs wishing to further develop their sporting activities in Styria and lays the foundation for a vibrant club landscape.
