Description
Sternstunden e.V. contributes nationwide to supporting sustainable initiatives for the benefit of sick, disabled, and needy children, as well as preventive measures. Funded projects may come from the fields of development cooperation, child and youth welfare, agriculture and rural development, as well as labor and social affairs. The focus is on one-time investment costs and start-up financing that, after an appropriate initial phase, enable independent continuation. Funding is provided in the form of sponsorship with the goal of achieving long-term improvements in living conditions. A prerequisite is that public grants are fully utilized and own funds are applied so that complementary funding contributions can have an impact.
Eligible to apply are tax-privileged organizations based in Germany that have been active for at least three years and have successfully implemented comparable projects. An equity ratio of at least 25% of the total costs strengthens the application, while ongoing personnel, administrative, and operating costs are generally excluded. Project start and application submission must not coincide: all documents—from the completed application form to statutes and tax exemption certificate to binding cost estimates—should be submitted no later than four months before the project start. The permanent, interdisciplinary funding remains flexibly plannable, as applications can be submitted continuously. Selection is based on the criteria of sustainable impact, equity ratio, and experience of the project sponsors.
