Description

Purpose of Funding and Target Groups
The Hamburg Animal Welfare Foundation supports non-profit animal protection associations, animal shelters, and similarly active organizations in Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, and Schleswig-Holstein. Unbureaucratic grants are primarily provided for projects related to the care of dogs and cats, the expansion of infrastructure, and medical measures. These include costs for food, fencing, quarantine stations, accommodation equipment, as well as neutering and veterinary care. Applications can be submitted throughout the year to allow flexible responses to urgent or long-term planned measures. A prerequisite is an informal application with a brief project description, a short presentation of the organization, and the current exemption notice.

Scope of Funding and Application
Since 2012, numerous projects have already been supported with over €92,000, including the care of feral cats, the construction of dog paddocks and quarantine stations, as well as neutering campaigns. A special focus is placed on the sustainable improvement of animal shelter infrastructure and basic veterinary care. Interested associations and institutions prepare their documents, including the project description and association profile, and submit them at any time by post or email to the foundation. Through clear requirements and unbureaucratic procedures, the Hamburg Animal Welfare Foundation sustainably promotes climate and species protection in the regional animal welfare sector.
