Support for tourism-promoting events and projects

The funding program in Vorarlberg is aimed at companies, non-profit organizations, interest groups, and associations that wish to implement projects, events, or initiatives with a tourism-promoting character. The goal of this ongoing grant funding is to strengthen the tourism offerings in rural areas and to increase regional value creation. In particular, projects that demonstrate a positive tourism policy background and contribute to the development of agriculture as well as rural regional promotion receive support. The funding also includes innovative cultural and leisure events as well as thematic markets, special tours, or experience programs that emphasize the uniqueness and diversity of Vorarlberg to guests and residents alike. The program provides a budget of 0.5 million euros per year and offers flexible application options without fixed submission deadlines, provided that applications are submitted before the start of the measure.

Interested stakeholders from the tourism sector submit a written application with a detailed project description to the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government – Department of General Economic Affairs (VIa). A prerequisite, in addition to the positive tourism policy background, is the proper submission of the application before the project start. After positive approval, the grants are paid out upon submission of the cost accounting. The general funding guidelines (AFRL) regulate the scope, extent, and processing of the support, ensuring thriftiness, economic efficiency, and appropriateness. Transparent reporting and follow-up controls ensure that the funds are used purposefully. Through this initiative, the state of Vorarlberg promotes sustainable tourism impulses and supports regional partners in the professional implementation of their ideas.
