Description
The funding guideline “Self-Determined Living in Old Age” (SeLA) of the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs supports public institutions, interest groups, associations, and non-profit organizations in Bavaria in implementing innovative measures for senior-friendly local structures. Funded are neighborhood concepts, neighbor-supported assistance services, housing counseling centers, community-oriented housing forms, and other model projects that enable elderly people with support needs to live self-determined lives in their own homes or in a domestic environment. The funding covers professional support, coordination, external consulting services, public relations, and – in the case of housing projects – the furnishing of common rooms. Projects can be funded for up to 48 months (neighborhood concepts) or 24 months (other measures), depending on the type of measure.
The funding amount is up to €80,000 for neighborhood concepts, €10,000 for neighborly assistance, and up to €40,000 each for housing counseling centers, community-oriented housing forms, and other innovative initiatives. Applicants submit a coordinated concept with proof of municipal cooperation, a cost and financing plan, as well as the fully completed and signed SeLA application form. A prior consultation at the coordination office “Housing in Old Age” is a prerequisite. Funding requirements and evaluation criteria – including innovation content, sustainability, and civic engagement – are regulated in the funding guideline. Applications can be submitted at any time after consultation; own funds amounting to at least 10% of eligible expenses must be demonstrated.
