Funding of events (conferences, symposia, training) of the German Foundation for Women’s and Gender Studies

The German Foundation for Women’s and Gender Studies makes it possible to establish and further develop training and continuing education formats in the field of Gender Studies nationwide. Private individuals, educational institutions, non-profit and public organizations can apply for grants for conferences, symposia, training sessions, and other event formats that serve research and education in women’s and gender studies. Funding is provided as a financial grant and covers both organizational costs and participation fees. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, allowing project ideas to be submitted flexibly and enabling a prompt decision on the funding.

Research projects and educational offerings that have a clearly defined professional connection to women’s and gender studies are supported. A demonstrable activity in the thematic funding area as well as the planning of one of the aforementioned event formats is a prerequisite. The application requires a precise project description, the objectives and purpose of the measure, as well as a meaningful content presentation. Researchers, scientists, as well as organizers and participants of conferences equally benefit from this program. The foundation thus places an emphasis on knowledge transfer and networking within the gender community and contributes to the sustainable strengthening of this research field in Germany.
