Support for Associations

The support of associations in Upper Austria is aimed at interest groups, other associations, non-profit organizations, as well as private individuals based in Upper Austria who are active in the areas of social cohesion and democracy, regional development, labor & social affairs, or agriculture & rural development. Funding is provided particularly for projects that do not fall under a specific departmental assignment within the Upper Austrian state government. Applications can be submitted at any time and are approved in the form of direct grants. The allocation is based on the General Funding Guidelines of the State of Upper Austria, with expenditure reports used to monitor the use of funds.

With the goal of strengthening engagement in local associations, committees, and platforms, this funding measure supports innovative projects, long-term initiatives, and individual activities that contribute to social cohesion. Applicants must demonstrate their registered office in Upper Austria and justify the need for funding outside a specific specialist department. Through the uncomplicated, always possible application process, associations and initiatives receive the necessary financial basis to implement their projects flexibly and purposefully. The allocation is overseen by the Finance Directorate within the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government, which, as the central administrative unit, is responsible for all financial processes and ensures timely processing.
