Funding of projects for the development of a municipality - State funding - 1st Deputy Governor

The State Funding of Styria has been supporting projects for the sustainable development of municipalities and the strengthening of economic interests since January 1, 2019. As a permanent institution without a time limit, the program is aimed at public institutions as well as natural and legal persons with headquarters or project relevance in Styria. Projects in the areas of regional development, infrastructure, urban planning and urban renewal, as well as agriculture and rural development, are funded. Non-repayable grants provide financial security for measures that set important impulses for rural areas, municipal infrastructure, and the local economy. The continuity of the funding offer enables long-term planning and implementation of regionally significant projects.

Applications can be submitted continuously and require the submission of a meaningful project description as well as a detailed project plan related to Styria. The selection process particularly evaluates the potential to strengthen municipal development and the economic significance. Applicants benefit from close coordination with Department 7 “Municipalities, Elections and Rural Road Construction” of the Styrian State Government. By granting a subsidy, innovative projects are sustainably realized and contribute significantly to the future viability of Styrian municipalities.
