Since January 1, 2019, municipalities as well as legal entities and individuals connected to Styria can apply for grants for projects that advance the structural, urban development, and economic progress of the region. The aim of this funding is to ensure the sustainable development of rural and urban structures within the federal state and to strengthen economic interests through investments in municipal infrastructure and citizen-oriented initiatives. Supported are, among others, concepts for the expansion of supply networks, urban renewal measures, innovative approaches in agriculture, as well as projects in the field of sustainable mobility. Funding subjects cover the thematic areas of regional development, urban planning & urban renewal, infrastructure, agriculture & rural development and focus on measures that strengthen the common good and generate economic benefits. The emphasis is on sustainable concepts that establish a balanced harmony between urban modernization and rural revitalization. This state funding stimulates a long-term positive dynamic throughout Styria.
Applications can be submitted at any time and are processed as direct funding in the form of a grant. Eligible applicants include public institutions, private enterprises, non-profit organizations, and individuals implementing projects with a clear connection to Styria. Applicants must submit a comprehensive project description as well as a detailed project plan that clearly outlines the regional impact, cost planning, and timeline. Furthermore, evidence of previous experience and, if applicable, a plausibility analysis of ecological and social effects is recommended. The responsible processing office is Department 7 “Municipalities, Elections and Rural Road Construction” within the Office of the Styrian State Government.
