Description
The guideline of Department 12 “Economy, Tourism, Science and Research” of the State of Styria supports non-repayable grants for projects and activities based or at least partially carried out in Styria. Eligible applicants include companies, start-ups, non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private households that make a qualitatively measurable contribution to the Styria Economic Strategy 2030. The focus is on measures to strengthen location management, research & innovation, education & training, as well as consulting & business financing. The amount and intensity of funding are determined based on a substantive assessment of the degree of innovation, the contribution to the economic strategy and sustainability, as well as the feasibility of the project. Applications can be submitted continuously, whereby Department A12 only guarantees funding of the total project costs if the financial realization is secured. Eligible expenses include personnel and material costs, travel expenses, public relations, and consulting costs. Applications are submitted using a standardized form that contains all necessary information on the project description, cost planning, and financing. After a positive evaluation and government session resolution, a written funding agreement is concluded.
For disbursement, the legally binding signing of the contract or a declaration of commitment is required. Documentation is provided by means of appropriate evidence, which is checked either randomly or fully depending on the amount of funding. For grants over €2,500, a detailed list of receipts must be submitted; for volumes starting at €30,000, project-specific indicators are required. Funding is not subject to an application deadline and may generally be claimed alongside other federal or state instruments, provided no competition law exclusion criteria apply. Beneficiaries must observe publicity requirements and are obliged to report any changes in framework conditions immediately. In case of non-fulfillment of contractual provisions, Department A12 reserves the right to reclaim funds and withhold payments.
