Funding of Housing for People with Disabilities

The Free State of Bavaria supports the new construction and redevelopment of residential places for people with disabilities through a non-repayable grant of up to 70% of eligible costs. The aim of the funding is to create individual, community-integrated living arrangements that enable a self-determined and largely independent life. Funding is provided for land costs as well as construction and ancillary construction costs in accordance with the Second Calculation Regulation (II. BV). The funds are available to non-profit organizations and public institutions in all administrative districts of Bavaria. In this way, not only the expansion of structural infrastructure is promoted, but also the social participation of the residents is strengthened and the regional infrastructure further developed.

Eligible to apply are providers of stationary residential services who submit a professional concept with an inclusive objective and can demonstrate a long-term need for places. A prerequisite for approval is that construction work or the conclusion of a purchase contract only begins after receipt of the funding approval. Projects must be registered annually by March 15 with the respective district government or in the cities of Munich, Nuremberg, or Augsburg. Proof of land ownership and the professional concept are required. After a positive annual review, an invitation to submit an application is issued, followed by final approval through the Bavarian State Land Credit Institution. With this structured approach, the State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport promotes sustainable, barrier-free, and community-integrated housing solutions for people with disabilities in Bavaria.
