Funding of Scientific Conferences – Hilde and Olaf Werner Foundation for the Promotion of Foundations

The Hilde and Olaf Werner Foundation for the Promotion of the Foundation Sector supports scientific conferences nationwide with a focus on foundations and associations. The aim is to enable interdisciplinary exchange between law, economics, history, and social sciences, thereby promoting the practical development of the nonprofit sector. As a grant provider, the foundation focuses on events that link theoretical insights with practical perspectives. Formats that incorporate innovative research approaches and strengthen the dialogue between researchers and practitioners are particularly welcome.

Eligible for funding are educational institutions, nonprofit and public organizations, as well as private individuals planning a conference on topics related to foundations and associations. There are no deadlines: funding requests can be submitted informally by email to the foundation at any time. During the application review, attention is paid to the interdisciplinary approach, scientific quality, and practical relevance of the event. Funding for individuals in further training or the establishment of foundation assets is excluded. Participants will receive a binding response regarding the scope of funding and any conditions. This offer provides both researchers and practitioners the opportunity to expand their networks and generate impulses for the future of nonprofit organizational forms.
