Description
The Film Funding Agency (FFA) provides nationwide grants within the framework of the Film Funding Act 2025 to fulfill diverse film funding tasks. Primarily supported are projects of the film industry with overall economic significance, such as specialist conferences, national and international events, training measures, market research studies, film education programs, as well as the international representation of German film. Companies, start-ups, and private individuals from the media and cultural sectors can apply for these funding aids to effectively advance their projects on both national and international levels. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and supports the strengthening of the industry through networking of industry experts, know-how transfer, and the profiling of German film productions abroad.
Applications can be submitted continuously and exclusively digitally via the FFA Service Portal. Applications must be submitted no later than three months before the planned project start and must include proof of activity in the film industry as well as a precise project description with a budget plan. The basis for funding is §§ 2 and 3 of the Film Funding Act 2025 as well as the corresponding FFA guidelines. Transparent evaluation ensures that the funds are purposefully used for the development of expertise, market analyses, and educational initiatives. The ongoing allocation of funds offers project managers maximum planning security to implement innovative and sustainable measures in the German film sector and to further expand its international presence.
