Funding for the Support of Fire Department Nachwuchs Development

Within the framework of the funding to secure the future of the fire brigades, the State of Salzburg annually provides a grant to the State Fire Brigade Association to promote future emergency personnel throughout the state. The focus is on organizing youth fire brigade events, youth performance competitions, as well as the purchase of responsible equipment and modern devices. This support imparts professional skills while simultaneously strengthening social abilities and team spirit. The funds from the areas of disaster protection, training & education, and labor & social affairs contribute to accompanying the development of the fire brigade youth and sustainably preparing them for active service in Salzburg. The funding aims to emphasize public interest in an efficient disaster protection organization and to measurably optimize youth recruitment.

The Salzburg State Fire Brigade Association, which coordinates all activities of the youth fire brigade, is eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted at any time, as there is no deadline, and are made in the form of a grant, the amount of which is aligned with the necessary funding purpose. Expenses for youth events, performance competitions, as well as the purchase of equipment and gear are eligible for funding. A prerequisite for approval is proof of the legal status of the association, a budget estimate for the current fiscal year, the latest financial statement, and a detailed financing plan including total costs, own contributions, and requested funding. The documentation is supplemented by a declaration permitting inspection of accounting records and proof of use, as well as a consent form in accordance with data protection law for the publication of name, address, and funding amounts. These documents ensure transparent and targeted funding.
