Funding for Securing the Next Generation of Firefighters

The funding to secure the next generation of firefighters supports the Salzburg State Fire Brigade Association and its youth organizations in sustainably strengthening voluntary engagement in disaster protection. With annually renewable grants, a variety of activities aimed at attracting and training young interested individuals can be realized. The focus is on events for the youth fire brigade, performance events, as well as the procurement of modern equipment and devices. The approval of funds ensures that educational objectives and practical training formats are optimally linked to sustainably promote the professional expertise and team skills of the participants.

Eligible for funding are exclusively the Salzburg State Fire Brigade Association and its affiliated youth organizations, which provide proof of the earmarked use of funds. Applications can be submitted annually without a fixed deadline, whereby a properly completed application and the designation of the funding are prerequisites for approval. Covered are expenses for conducting youth events, organizing and participating in youth performance competitions, as well as investments in equipment and devices that directly serve youth work. The objective is to secure qualified and motivated young personnel for disaster protection deployment in the long term and to sustainably ensure the operational capability of the fire brigades in the state of Salzburg.
