Only non-profit interest groups or associations that receive a written commitment from Department 3 – Municipalities and Disaster Protection following a formal application are eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted at any time; the allocation of funds is made at the discretion of the responsible specialist office. This indefinite support has been in place since 2014, enabling long-term strategies and continuity.
This support enables a sustainable personnel structure as well as the implementation of diverse projects ranging from prevention measures and exercises to information campaigns in civil protection. Eligible expenses particularly include training and further education for employees, procurement of protective equipment, conducting disaster protection exercises, as well as public relations and informational events. It strengthens the organizational and personnel operational capacity of the entity in disaster protection and creates a reliable framework for long-term planning.
