Description
The Bewegungsstiftung supports progressive social movements and committed individuals nationwide who actively advocate for social change. The focus of the funding is on social cohesion, democracy, social issues, as well as work & social affairs. With a broad range of funding programs—including start-up assistance, campaign funding, basic funding, and advisory services—initiatives, organizations, and dedicated actors receive structural support. In addition to financial grants, which vary between 3,000 and 100,000 euros, the foundation also provides access to professional consulting and an extensive foundation network to sustainably advance political, social, and ecological change.
The funding measure is aimed at tax-recognized non-profit organizations as well as private individuals who act as part of social movements. A prerequisite for funding is, among other things, membership in a social movement and proof of social engagement. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material costs, consulting fees, and project support, while acquisitions of real estate or retroactive costs are not considered. The evaluation of funding applications is based on the degree of innovation, relevance to social change, sustainability of engagement, and the quality of strategic planning and implementation of the project.
The funding provided by the Bewegungsstiftung thus offers a unique opportunity to specifically support projects and initiatives committed to a just, democratic, and ecological future. Not only financial resources are provided, but also advisory and networking services to initiate long-term and effective change. Funding applications can be submitted within varying deadlines, for example, on the first Tuesday in April and September. This structured and targeted support is particularly interesting for socially engaged actors who wish to expand their projects and actively shape social discourse.
