Support for Agricultural Animal Husbandry

The funding measure supports Styrian livestock farms in primary production through grants for quality and health measures. Eligible applicants are agricultural enterprises as well as non-profit organizations that carry out livestock measures in their own name and on their own account. The funding subject particularly includes performance and quality tests, genetic tests, as well as inspections and reports to secure the genetic quality and performance characteristics of cattle, sheep, and goats in the long term. Eligible expenses are reimbursed up to 70%, provided that implementation without funding would be economically unreasonable and professional competence is demonstrated. Applications can be submitted continuously to the Office of the Styrian Provincial Government, Department 10 Agriculture and Forestry.

The application requires the submission of a complete project proposal with a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, as well as proof of professional competence. Selection is based on the criteria of economic efficiency and the professional completeness of the documents. A technical review ensures the earmarked and appropriate use of the funds. The funding aims to maintain the high-quality standard of Styrian animal-based food products and to strengthen the supply of first-class products.
