Measures in building and monument preservation, environmental and climate protection including energy efficiency, animal welfare, and landscape conservation are supported, as well as sporting activities and the preservation of regional traditions. With its regional focus, it contributes to strengthening local structures and promotes networking between project sponsors and experts and multipliers.

Eligible costs include personnel and material expenses, whereby the funds granted must be documented after project completion by a factual report with proof of costs. A prerequisite for review is the use of the official application form and the complete submission of all documents before the start of the measure. These include a detailed description of the project, a self-presentation or brochure of the applying organization, the statutes, a current excerpt from the register of associations, as well as the corporate tax exemption certificate. The board of trustees usually makes its decisions twice a year and reviews each application individually.
