Description
The Lower Austria Landscape Fund supports projects for the preservation and restoration of ecologically intact cultural landscapes in Lower Austria through grants. Eligible applicants include natural and legal persons, local authorities, as well as start-ups – ranging from private individuals and small to medium-sized enterprises to non-profit organizations and cooperatives. Continuous submissions are possible at any time, as there is no fixed deadline. Focused on the challenges of climate change, the fund supports initiatives in the areas of landscape design, natural space management, species protection, sustainable land use, forest maintenance, tourist facilities, and watercourse revitalization.
The funding amounts to up to 60% of eligible expenses and may cover planning and consulting costs, investment costs, planting and vegetation costs, as well as expenses for evaluation, monitoring, and project supervision. Mineral fertilization and chemically-synthetic plant protection products are not considered. Grant conditions include, among others, fulfillment of the funding objective, absence of statutory implementation obligations, and SME status for EU aid. Evaluation criteria include contribution to cultural landscape preservation, ecological impact, sustainability, and degree of innovation. For the application, documents such as project description/project data sheet, detailed cost breakdown with quotes, official approvals, organizational statutes, SME status confirmation, and De minimis declaration must be submitted.
