Funding for Waste Management Measures

This funding program strengthens the establishment and operation of diverse waste and recycling measures in Upper Austria: From green waste and shrub cuttings collection points to recycling centers and composting facilities, as well as ReVital shops, repair, and reuse initiatives, both investment and organizational projects are financially supported. Storage areas in recycling centers, raw material management in businesses, the remediation of contaminated sites, and the avoidance of hazardous waste are also included in the scope of funding. It is an open-ended grant, and applications can be submitted year-round. The goal is to support commercial enterprises, social and non-profit organizations, as well as public institutions in creating a sustainable waste infrastructure and significantly increasing resource efficiency in the region.

The target groups are natural and legal persons based in Upper Austria: commercial enterprises, associations, educational institutions, owners of contaminated properties, waste associations, municipalities, and municipal bodies all benefit equally. A prerequisite is the complete implementation of the project and the permanent dedication of the funded infrastructure to the intended purpose (ten years). An audit by the competent state authority ensures transparency and legality. Thus, the program makes a significant contribution to environmental and climate protection, promotes sustainable material cycles, and reduces waste volumes in Upper Austria in the long term.
