Funding for Small-Scale Projects for Climate and Environment

The City of Vienna – Environmental Protection (MA 22) offers a continuously open funding opportunity for small-scale projects in climate and environmental protection in Vienna. Non-profit associations, non-profit legal entities, non-profit partnerships registered in the commercial register (excluding financial companies), non-profit enterprises, as well as natural persons aged 18 and over, can submit grant applications online free of charge at any time. The aim is to support environment-specific activities and innovative initiatives in the fields of climate protection, environmental/nature conservation, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. Up to €10,000 is available per project, with an annual total budget of approximately €0.72 million.

The submitted projects are reviewed by MA 22 according to formal, substantive, and financial criteria and presented to the responsible decision-making bodies for resolution. Funding is provided, among others, for pilot measures for energy savings, renaturation and greening initiatives, environmental education programs, or joint neighborhood projects. The grants enable the implementation of creative and sustainable concepts in practice, thereby making a tangible contribution to a more climate-friendly and nature-oriented city. Interested project sponsors thus receive uncomplicated and cost-effective support to realize their environmental projects in Vienna.
