Description
The City of Vienna – Environmental Protection (MA 22) supports innovative small-scale projects in climate and environmental protection with direct grants of up to 10,000 euros. Eligible projects are characterized by a clear contribution to environmental and climate protection as well as a substantive, institutional, or geographical connection to the City of Vienna. The funding amount is based on the actual financial need and is awarded following formal, substantive, and financial review by an independent committee. Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material costs, and travel expenses using public transportation; travel expenses may be recognized in justified exceptional cases. Non-eligible costs include, among others, representation expenses, voluntary social benefits, private pension provisions, mileage allowances, and rental car costs. Evaluation criteria are degree of innovation, financial need, benefit for Vienna, and contribution to climate and environmental protection.
Eligible applicants are non-profit associations, legal entities, non-profit partnerships registered in the commercial register, as well as natural persons aged 18 and over residing in Vienna. A registered office or branch in Vienna and proof of public interest in climate and environmental protection are prerequisites. The online funding application can be submitted continuously from January 1, 2025, until the budget volume is exhausted. Required documents include, among others, an income-expenditure statement, current association statutes or partnership agreement, a criminal record extract, registration confirmation, or photo ID. Application and processing are conducted electronically via the MA 22 form server.
