Funding for Measures in Urban Water Management - Water Supply

This funding program supports the establishment and reinvestment of facilities for drinking water supply and treatment in Upper Austria, as well as accompanying measures to ensure a sustainable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly water supply. Funding is provided, among other things, for water abstraction (wells, springs), water storage in elevated and underground tanks, distribution via drinking water pipelines, and water treatment. Furthermore, the purchase of land for protected areas, the creation of a digital pipeline cadastre, the development of drinking water supply concepts, and the installation of facilities for the use of renewable energies for own consumption can be subsidized. Eligible services also include planning and construction supervision services that ensure a smooth process and high quality of the projects.

Eligible applicants are municipalities, water associations, water cooperatives, alpine clubs, as well as natural and legal persons who construct a connection pipeline longer than 100 meters to a public water supply network or newly establish or reinvest individual water supply systems in extreme locations. Applications can be submitted at any time via a form to the Water Management Department of the Upper Austrian State Government. The submission requires the fully completed application form and final accounting documents. After a positive review, the grants are paid out directly. This continuously open funding offer makes a significant contribution to strengthening regional infrastructure, securing drinking water quality, and promoting renewable energies in the water sector.
