Description
In Vienna, listed heritage properties are the focus of an ongoing funding program, which can be utilized by both private individuals and public institutions. The objective is the safeguarding, preservation, and scientific study of historic buildings. Within the framework of these grants, all expenses directly related to stabilization measures, conservation work, or preliminary investigations for the restoration of a condition compliant with monument protection are supported. Additionally, recognition grants in the field of monument protection and conservation are awarded to promote the sustainable maintenance and documentation of cultural values. The budgeted volume of €14.836 million guarantees a solid foundation for diverse heritage conservation initiatives in the federal capital.
Eligible applicants are primarily owners of protected buildings, legally superior bodies such as diocesan building offices, as well as clients who lawfully commission measures. A prerequisite for funding is proof of monument protection status. Eligible costs include, for example, stabilization, restoration, archaeological and art-historical research, as well as adaptations that respect the original character. Applications must be submitted using a completed application form along with a detailed work and financing plan. Information on current deadlines and further details is available on the Service Platform Art & Culture of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport. Accounting is carried out after approval based on balanced original receipts.
