Description
The state of Upper Austria supports the cultural heritage of the region through grants for investments, annual programs, projects, and events in the field of folk culture. A wide range of initiatives are funded, including homeland and cultural associations, folk and traditional groups, adult education centers, folk music as well as regional studies groups, and representatives of folk art. The goal is to preserve long-established traditions, provide impetus for revitalization, and sustainably further develop folk culture. With continuous submission opportunities, planning security can be ensured, while selection is based on defined funding criteria that guarantee each measure contributes to the cultural diversity of Upper Austria.
Eligible for funding are both associations and private individuals with a location or activity connection in Upper Austria. A prerequisite is compliance with the Upper Austrian cultural mission statement, the Cultural Funding Act, and the General Funding Guidelines of the state. Not eligible for funding are expenses that cannot be directly assigned to the funding purpose – these include, among others, taxes, public charges, legal fees, representation costs, and small invoices under 50 euros. The application requires a fully completed and signed form, a detailed description of the project, a cost calculation with a coherent financing plan, and for annual programs, the previous year's financial statement. The funding commitment is linked to a proof of use, which must be submitted within the deadline. Since applications can be submitted at any time, the program offers maximum flexibility for diverse folk culture projects.
