Funding in the Field of Gender

The funding program of the Ministry of Education in Vienna supports innovative educational initiatives that promote balanced equality between women and men/girls and boys. Public institutions, interest groups, associations, as well as individuals can apply for direct grants to implement projects aimed at increasing gender sensitivity. The focus is on school-based career orientation and violence prevention to raise awareness among students and teachers about gender-related role expectations. The unlimited submission option enables timely funding so that forward-looking concepts can be quickly tested and sustainably anchored. By using the funds for personnel and material costs, didactic materials, and accompanying training, the prerequisites are created to strengthen equal opportunities and gender equity in education and to enhance the performance level of the target groups.

For a complete application, a detailed description of the project as well as a meaningful financing plan indicating total costs and their coverage are required. If personnel costs are requested, a standardized job description must also be attached. The completed application form as well as the General Funding Conditions and the Guide to Funding Accounting must be accepted. A central requirement is the applicability of the results for students and teachers to ensure practical implementation. Funding applications are continuously reviewed and awarded in the form of grants – an attractive offer for all those who wish to design educational projects with a focus on gender equity.
