Support for the processing, marketing, and development of agricultural products

The funding initiative “Processing, Marketing, and Development of Agricultural Products” strengthens value creation in Vorarlberg’s agricultural and food industry. It is targeted specifically at agricultural enterprises and cooperatives, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), that wish to expand their infrastructure for processing, storage, or marketing. Eligible for funding are structural investments, machinery, technical equipment, and professional consulting aimed at optimizing production processes, securing quality standards, and establishing sustainable market strategies. A special focus is placed on innovation, regional cooperation, and environmentally responsible resource management. The maximum investment amount is 300,000 euros; the process is handled unbureaucratically without deadline restrictions, and applications can be submitted at any time. A profitability analysis prepared before the start of the measures and assurance of project risks are prerequisites for funding.

The funding is provided as a direct grant ranging from 30% to 50% of eligible costs depending on the regional funding area. Minimum investments are 20,000 euros, with a cost ceiling of 300,000 euros per enterprise. Applicants must submit a written profitability statement, plans with building permits, as well as statutes and proof of payment. Vehicle acquisitions are not eligible for funding. Approval is granted by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Areas of the State of Vorarlberg, with compliance to funding criteria ensured through on-site inspections and document reviews. This measure makes an important contribution to the modernization of agricultural enterprises, securing jobs in rural areas, and increasing regional competitiveness.
