Fund "Educational Opportunities for Children"

The "Educational Opportunities for Children" fund of the DiakonieStiftung Ulm provides straightforward financial grants to actively combat child poverty in Ulm. As a continuously managed subsidy, it specifically targets families with low incomes whose children are only able to participate in educational, cultural, or sports activities to a limited extent due to material constraints. Using funds from the foundation's capital, necessary expenses such as school supplies, course fees, or club memberships are covered to sustainably promote participation and social integration. The initiative is based on many years of experience in social and debt counseling as well as services for immigrants and childcare for young children, thereby strengthening the goal of realizing equal opportunities locally.

Eligible for funding are privately financed applications, provided the applicant can prove their main residence in Ulm and demonstrate need through appropriate documentation. Informal applications can be submitted throughout the year, as allocations are made on an ongoing basis. A commission of foundation representatives decides promptly on the approval and amount of the grant.
