Research Funding of the Climate Concept Foundation

The Climate Concept Foundation funds scientific research projects nationwide that make a significant contribution to evidence-based climate policy. The focus is on natural science studies related to CO₂ capture and storage in ecosystems, as well as social science projects evaluating climate policy instruments and raising public awareness. Eligible for funding are non-profit educational institutions and organizations that either address natural scientific questions in climate research or examine socio-political approaches to the effectiveness of climate policy measures. The foundation grants ongoing, unlimited subsidies, provided that the submitted projects demonstrate outstanding scientific quality, high relevance to climate policy, and a strong potential for public education.

The goal of the funding initiative is to generate reliable data and well-founded analyses to advance both policy-making and societal awareness. The Climate Concept Foundation supports research projects to a limited extent both financially and organizationally. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no formal deadline. Selection is based on clearly defined criteria: excellence of the research question, benefit for the development of effective climate policy strategies, and contribution to raising public awareness. This measure is expressly aimed at scientists and research institutions pursuing innovative approaches to addressing the ecological challenges of our time and thereby laying the foundation for sustainable, future-oriented climate policy.
