Description

Since 2004, the René Baumgart Foundation has annually awarded a research prize endowed with €5,000 for clinical and experimental studies on pulmonary hypertension in children and adults. Recognized are original and innovative scientific works that were created within the last twelve months prior to submission or have not yet been published. The focus is on publications whose research projects were conducted in the German-speaking region – Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Through continuous support, new insights into the causes, diagnostics, and treatment options of pulmonary hypertension are to be gained, thereby sustainably improving the quality of life of those affected.

Eligible to participate are individuals as well as institutions from the education and scientific sectors who have authored an independent study or work on pulmonary hypertension. The jury evaluates submissions based on the criteria of originality, degree of innovation, and clinical relevance. A regular call for applications guarantees ongoing opportunities for researchers from universities, clinics, and research laboratories. The aim is to strengthen scientific exchange and, through the award ceremony, to generate greater awareness of this rare but serious disease. Exact deadlines and modalities can be found on the René Baumgart Foundation’s website under the “Research Prize” section.
