Description
Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) Brandenburg supports young people in Brandenburg in strengthening their professional skills in environmental and nature conservation while simultaneously promoting social engagement. Funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), the program targets participants who have completed their full-time schooling obligation, have not yet reached the age of 27, and reside in Brandenburg. Within a twelve-month youth voluntary service, participants engage practically in projects related to environmental education, nature and species protection, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection. The aim of the measure is to reduce gender-specific barriers in career choice, increase training and employability, and contribute to strengthening social cohesion and democratic participation.
Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations officially recognized as FÖJ providers in Brandenburg. Grants cover both the costs of educational supervision and the deployment expenses of the participants. Applications are submitted via the online portal of the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg. The funding guideline of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Environment and Consumer Protection (MLEUV) Brandenburg is valid until August 31, 2027. Interested providers should ensure that their registered office and activities are verifiably located in Brandenburg and that applications are submitted on time. The program offers up to 100 placements, providing valuable insights into environmental policy and social fields of action and sustainably contributing to the career orientation of young people.
