Description
The Voluntary Social Year of the St. Florian Foundation Neuzelle offers young people under 27 years of age the opportunity to actively participate in social institutions in the state of Brandenburg. During the twelve-month commitment, which usually begins on September 1st, practical experience is gained in educational or care-related fields, while accompanying educational seminars promote personal and professional orientation. The placements range from the Catholic primary school with advanced support classes to residential facilities for people with support needs, as well as employment and support areas. This program is funded as a grant, with participants receiving a monthly allowance, social security contributions, and accommodation subsidies.
Applicants must have completed full-time compulsory schooling, be willing to commit to a one-year voluntary service, and have an open interest in working with sick, elderly, disabled people, or children and adolescents. Accompanying seminars deepen professional and social skills and provide space for self-reflection. With regard to future training and further education, the Voluntary Social Year is often recognized as a preparatory internship or waiting semester. Application documents – consisting of a cover letter, CV, and certificates – can be submitted year-round. The voluntary service is aimed at all those who wish to expand their knowledge in a social environment, gain practical experience with commitment, and sharpen their professional path through educational work.
